Different seasons call for different measures. In winter we take every measure to insulate their hives, shielding them from the cold and supporting their resilience. Come Spring and Summer, we try cultivate an abundant garden of bee-friendly flowers, providing sustenance and care.
The welfare of our bees drives us to be responsible stewards of their environment. While we approach our mission earnestly, we never compromise on the ethical principles that underpin our beekeeping practices.
Charity Support
Bees for Development is a charity that holds a special place in our hearts. Their mission is to foster sustainable beekeeping in developing countries by sharing vital beekeeping skills, creating a reliable source of lifelong income. This initiative not only fights poverty but also contributes to preserving biodiversity. We wholeheartedly support their cause, as we're committed to doing our part for the planet. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
Social Impact
As part of our ongoing commitment to social projects, we proudly support the 'Bee Better Project' at HMP Hindley. This incredible initiative engages prisoners in environmental issues through beekeeping, providing them with a fascinating escape from the prison setting for a few hours each week. To contribute to the cause, we conducted a creative workshop where we designed labels for the honey harvested from the bees. Together, we're making a positive impact on both the environment and the lives of those involved.
BEEKEEPING COURSES
In recent years, our partnership with Idler has been dedicated to educating people about the significance of bees and nurturing a community of beekeepers. Through our beekeeping courses to date, we've proudly trained over 500 new enthusiasts.
As of September 2023, we're taking things up a notch by constructing our very own beekeeping school at our hives' home in Wiltshire. This exciting development will empower us to offer an array of courses year-round, furthering our mission to raise awareness and knowledge about the vital role bees play in our ecosystem.
We expect our school to become a hive of knowledge, propelling our mission to spread awareness about the vital role bees play in our ecosystem and educating more people than ever before. The goal is to create a buzz of enthusiasm and learning will echo far beyond our apiary, leaving a lasting impact on the world of beekeeping and environmental stewardship.
